Jeff Steen makes his home and profession in the famed Napa Valley where food and wine are a way of life for it’s residents.
Raised in St. Helena, CA, Steen moved away in 1971 and first became involved in the restaurant business when he worked as a bartender to help support his law school studies. Deciding the restaurant business was for him, Steen has been involved in all positions / duties of the restaurant business for the last 18 years. During his earlier years, Steen began and managed La Pinata in Burlingame then moving over to Senor’ Pepes in Foster City and becoming multi-unit manager for the corporation. He then became General Manager for two growing companies, Compadres Mexican Bar & Grill of Palo Alto and Yountville, Ristorante Piatti of Yountville.
Typical to Steen’s nature, he credits his hospitality, attitude and ongoing community involvement to the success of every location he has either started or taken over. With his rare ability to charm customers with his good nature and wit, while running the loyalty and respect of his staff through his hard-working and equitable management style, he has developed each location into a enjoyable experience.
Steen has enjoyed donating time and resources to numerous charitable activities including; initiated the Napa Valley Chili Cookoff, raising $35 thousand for the Boys & Girls Club. Napa Valley Symphony Association, Music for the Youth Endowment Fund, raising over $ 9 thousand; starting the Kiawanis Golf Tournament, raising $ 2 thousand for local youth programs. As a result of this involvement and more, Steen was awarded "Citizen of the Year" in Yountville. He also been a board member on the Yountville Chamber of Commerce and Kiawanis Club
